Welcome home to Wesley.
Ours is a loving Christian community, comfortably rooted in tradition,
with a joyful, informal approach to worship.
We are the first African-American Methodist congregation in Columbia’s history, dating back 150 years.
Today, we embrace diversity as we look eagerly and optimistically to the future.
Join us as we live, breathe, and celebrate the Gospel.
HOW CAN WE PRAY FOR YOU?
Whatever is troubling you, whatever challenges you are facing, you are not alone. God cares, and so do we. Let us know how we might direct our prayers so that you might know greater blessings in your life.
WHO WE ARE
We are a 150-year-old downtown congregation that worships the Lord and serves the community around us. We are traditionally African-American, but welcoming to all people.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
Our guiding vision is of a world that knows and lives the love and hope of Jesus Christ. Our mission in this world is to make and nurture disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of all.
WORSHIP
We meet in our downtown sanctuary to worship together at 9 a.m. each Sunday. Our services vary from week to week, featuring different kinds of music. We hold onto tradition, but embrace a welcoming informality in our services.
